goodies I don't feel like posting on my website:
bittertwee said: How is this different from countless memoirs, much of pop music and/or a stand-up routine? Not to mention most conversations between female friends, because let’s face it, we women aren’t as great at the Bechdel Test as we like to think.
Not even considering the content of the presentation; the part that I’m focusing on is the stance that getting up and working your weird issues out in front of a crowd is considered an act of artistic merit and not something you may want to sit down with your female friends (or male friends or parents or therapist) and hash out. And if you must broadcast, at least make it entertaining or thought provoking or memorable (none of which felt like this performance had the capacity to do according to the article).
There’s good performance art out there - a lot of it, actually. This is just super lazy/lame to me.
