Smiling Now Primarily Used To Communicate Anger → theonion.com

Timely, but slightly innacurate - if only it was “smiling used to communicate confusion”, it’d be spot on.  What a weird week ~ hooray beer, indeed.

The creepy joy of cooking with Vincent Price. → slate.com

I’m the proud owner of 2 copies of this - one for lookin’ and one for usin’ ( his basic bread recipe has been a house staple for years ).

I’m glad the book is getting some attention - but their heavy-handed-high-hokum analysis of dear Vincent leaves me a bit meh.  He’s a little too awesome to reduce to “blah blah - I’m a monster!”  Just my opinion.  Get the book!

Sculptures stolen from cemetery - The Boston Globe → boston.com

Nauseating!  This probably explains why my entrance on Walk Hill has been locked this past week - and I haven’t been to FH since last Friday.  So incredibly heartbreaking - what sort of jerk steals art?  From a cemetery?  Sad that someone has chosen to exploit the best thing about that place - no people.  :(  Jerkwads.

Pumking - Southern Tier Brewing Company - Beer Advocate → beeradvocate.com

Without taking this opportunity to own up to my weaknesses, this is - hands down - the best pumpkin beer I’ve ever drank.  The man described it as “what butterbeer from Harry Potter should taste like” - and I can’t object.  It is liquid gold.  Yummy.

The Chalkboard Room → nytimes.com

I have been dreaming for years of doing this with an office or studio … cost of chalboard paint’s prohibitively expensive to do anything w/ it at this time.  It’s pretty cool to see it in action … and the rest of the house is pretty spectacular too!
