Nicely articulated bit about documenting and not living life … which isn’t especially novel anymore - and this is the good thing! Seeing more and more of this type of sentiment bubbling up. There’s something to be said for whipping out a camera and taking a quick picture to remember something special, it’s another thing entirely to live only through still shots — and having to be beautiful / handsome / mysterious throughout the documentation process. It’s too much -
— long time shirker of ‘pose for picture’ duty; decades of my life have and will continue to be undocumented. unless it’s my cats or my garden…
EDIT: MJS - if you didn’t yank me into the frame I would have *no* pictures of myself. So, thank you ;)
No different than sticking one’s head inside a sewer to verify it smells. Yes, it smells. Did you have to stick your head inside to determine a sewer stinks? Nope. Do you regret sticking your head inside the FB sewer? Yes, yes I do.
I wish you could take Bill Cunningham as a daily supplement; I would be far happier.
Amateurs ruin everthing
Was reading elsewhere that they’re resurrecting 120 Minutes along with this link to an archive site. First started looking at the 20-yrs ago playlist from May ‘91 - and progressed to 1988, the year I started watching - and - gah. Not so much nostalgia, but jealousy … I have neither the time available nor the good music to listen to as I did back then.
Can Men In Hip Expensive Pseudo-Business Attire Who Make Decisions choose to have MTV13 or something which does nothing but re-air old programming from 20 years ago (commercials and all)? I’d pay for that.
I go from zero to starving in like 5 mins. I was thinking of skipping dinner at 6p and now I can’t get to the kitchen fast enough.
Whoopee.
Soooo - when did these become hip?
